week 3 -9/19
Cinn +1.5
BC+7
Utah +4.5
Mich St +10.5
WVA +7.5
GA +1
Nev -2.5
Cincinnati +1.5
I've been impressed with the Bearcats early on especially after losing a signifacant amount of players from last yr club that won the Big East Title. They try and continue their sucsess this weekend in Corvalis against Oregon st Beavers. Cinn HC Brian Kelly has had his team ready .Cinn began season w/ 47-15 trouncing of Rutgers, and 70-3 pounding of SE Missouri St. last weekend.

These 2 teams met only once before in Queen City in 2007, which Cinn won 34-3.
Bearcats rolled up 564 tot.yds.396 pass yds vs. Rutgers and its stout D. and another 578 tot yds vs. SEMO. QB Pike threw for 229 yds and 3 TD's. and 362 yds and 3 TSDs the week before.WR Gilyard scored 4 TD's -caught a pair, ran for 1, and returned a 53 yd punt.finished for 6 rec/111 yds last weekend.
Ore st after blanking out UNLV 1st half last weekend, Org St D let up final 2 qtrs and allowed 21 pts to the rebels the unit gave up a pair of TD's yeilding 117 yds in those 2 drives. The D was bailed out by the Offense The D was stout against the run allowed 82 yds. and overall 310 yds D however just recorded 1 sack and 3 take aways in 2 games those areas need improvement. Shoulds be a tough game im going with the Cincinnati Bearcats

UTAH +4.5
18th ranke Utes head to Oregon Ducks in a non-conf game. Heading into last wks game they had the longest winning streak in the nation at 16 games. They had already knocked off in-state rival UT St by a score of 35-17 this past weekend went to San jose St struggled most of the game before claiming a 24-14 win and still dropping 1 spot in the rankings The Offense revolves around Asiata who has generated 250 yds and 3 TD's on 56 carries. from A D standpoint UT D has played well limiting SJST to 22 yds and held em 3-12 3rd down conv. The most recent meeting between these 2 teams back in 2003 went in favor to Utes 17-13 yet Org owns 17-8 series overall/
W/O Blount Org needs some major tuning ranking last in the PAC10 in rushing (112ypg),passing (142ypg), Tot Off. 254 yd pg. If not for those defensive scores last week the team would be in a deeper hole when it comes to scoring (avg 23 ppg)Org surrendered 451 total offense to Purdue.
I think this game stays close due to Utes D...and pull off a straight win Go Utes!

BOSTON COLLEGE +7
After 2 wins in Chestnut Hills the Eagles now hit the road and open their ACC slate against and at Clemson Tigers. BC kicked off the season 2-0 w/ a 54-0 blanking of Northeastern and a 34-7 triumph over Kent St. In a series that dates back to 1939. Both teams are 8-8-2 in all time meetings. Clemson won last years encounter 27-21 giving Dabo Sweeney his 1st win.
After rolling up 441 tot yds in their opener,2nd game managed 349 yds this past weekend.Dave Shinksie and Justin Tuggle both saw significant time under center once again for the Eagles and they combined for 223 yards and three touchdowns on 15-of-28 tosses. Both players were effective in the opener and they will continue to battle for the right to start each week. Following a zero catch first game, Rich Gunnell was the primary target last weekend, pulling in six balls for 114 yards and a pair of scores. In the backfield, Montel Harris went for 68 yards and a score on 19 carries, helping BC rack up 126 yards on the ground. Harris had over a 100 yards and a pair of scores in the opener, when the Eagles dialed up 236 rushing yards in a rout.
BC owned one of the top defenses in the nation last year and after the first two games, this unit hasn't shown any signs of letting up. The Eagles have surrendered just seven points over the first eight quarters and have held each of their two opponents under 180 total yards. Last weekend, BC limited KSU to just 60 rushing yards and 119 passing, while forcing three turnovers. The unit is allowing opponents just 2.0 rushing yards per carry, but the group could use a few more sacks, registering just one on the young season.
BC hasn't faced an opponent like Clemson yet and will need solid play from its quarterbacks to hang around. But I think its a tough ACC matchup and will take the TD. and the Eagles

Tough week last week...looking to bounce back with :

PENN ST-28 Yea right!! Syracuse played good last wk..was a fluke...Now Paulus experiment goes on the road to Happy Valley. Penn St aint no Minnesota

So Carolina +7 With SC struggling Offense,Defense has to step up again, last wk they held NCST to 11 1st downs and 133 total yds and allowed only 59 yds rushing on 39 attempts and limited them to 5 of 14 3rd down conv.and did not allow them to penetrate the red zone. So should stop Bulldog running game leaving pressure on 1st yr QB Cox..i'll...
